ARTISTS 2025

Every year, the Althofen Master Classes bring outstanding personalities of classical music to Carinthia: internationally active musicians, renowned university lecturers and inspiring mentors who share their passion and experience with the next generation.

 

Here we introduce you to the artists who will be part of our festival in 2025 – both on stage and in the classroom.

Masterclass

A play by Terrence McNally with Andrea Eckert

ANDREA ECKERT

Andrea Eckert is a multi-award-winning Austrian actress, singer, and filmmaker. After studying literature in Paris, she completed acting training with Dorothea Neff. Engagements have taken her to Vienna's Burgtheater and Volkstheater, among others. As artistic director of the Raimundspiele Gutenstein (2015–2021), she significantly shaped Austrian theater life.

CLAUDIA EMA CAMIE
soprano

Born in northern Germany, soprano Claudia Emà Camie completed her studies at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig under Professor Jitka Kovarikova. She is known for her performances in operas and concerts both at home and abroad.

TERESA GARDNER
soprano

Lisbon-born soprano Teresa Gardner studied singing, music-dramatic performance, and song and oratorio with Edith Mathis at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. She was a prizewinner at the "Musical Youth of Portugal" competition and performs as a soloist in operas and concerts.

PABLO CAMESELLE
tenor

The Spanish-Argentine tenor Pablo Cameselle began his vocal studies in Buenos Aires and continued them at the Vienna Conservatory. He has won several singing competitions and performed at renowned opera houses such as the Teatro Colón, the Aalto Theater Essen, and the Vienna Chamber Opera. His repertoire primarily includes bel canto roles.

DANIEL GROSSE-BOYMANN
accompanist

Daniel Große Boymann is a versatile artist: actor, author, translator, musician, and director. He completed his training as a musical performer at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts and has since worked freelance on numerous stages in German-speaking countries.

OLIVER MÜLICH
Set designer & make-up artist

Oliver Mülich is an experienced set designer and makeup artist who has worked at the Salzburg State Theater, among others. He has been involved in productions such as "The Rocky Horror Show."

Piano Trio

Three voices, one sound – chamber music in its purest form.

WOJCIECH GARBOWSKI
violin

Wojciech Garbowski is a violinist with the renowned Sonar Quartet Berlin, which focuses on contemporary music, and brings his interpretive depth and curiosity to the festival.

KONSTANTIN MANAEV
cello

As cellist of the Sonar Quartet Berlin, Konstantin Manaev stands for an innovative sound language and musical precision, which he also brings to the piano trio.

PHILIPP SCHEUCHER
piano

The Austrian pianist Philipp Scheucher delights international audiences with his technical brilliance and stylistic versatility – from classical repertoire to contemporary music.

JOHANNA DODERER
composition

An Austrian composer with an international reputation, her works are performed worldwide. She leads the composition class at the Althofen Master Classes, where young talents develop and perform their own works.

MARGIT KLAUSHOFER
singing

Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). She brings her many years of experience as an opera singer and vocal teacher to her master classes.

CHRISTIAN ALTENBURGER
violin

Internationally sought-after violinist and professor at the mdw. He teaches the violin masterclass during the first week of the masterclasses.

JOHANNES FLEISCHMANN
violin

Internationally sought-after violinist and professor at the mdw. He teaches the violin masterclass during the first week of the masterclasses.

LYDIA ALTENBURGER
violin

Successful violin and viola teacher, chamber musician and soloist leads the Junior Masterclass for violin, which is aimed at young talents.

RAZVAN POPOVICI
viola

Viola player and professor at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. He brings his international experience to the viola masterclass.

TOKE MØLDRUP
cello

Internationally renowned cellist and professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

DOMINIK WAGNER
double bass

Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). She brings her many years of experience as an opera singer and vocal teacher to her master classes.

ELISABETH PLANK
harp

Harpist and professor at the mdw. Internationally sought-after soloist and founder of the Vienna Harp Days

FLORIAN REINERS
Stage presence

Professor of Speech Design at the Max Reinhardt Seminar, Institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He is an expert in the field of language, voice, and expression; actors and performers.
