With great anticipation, I am looking forward to the upcoming summer, during which we will be hosting the Althofen Master Classes for the third time in the enchanting city of Althofen in Carinthia. Esteemed artists who teach at renowned music universities and academies in Vienna, Klagenfurt, Copenhagen, and Würzburg will be joining us.
Once again, young musicians from various countries will come to Althofen to expand their skills in intensive exchange with international professors. Exciting encounters are guaranteed when the master classes open their doors to our audience again. You are welcome to observe the intense work of the young artists during classes or enjoy their performances at our freely accessible concerts.
This year, we are once again committed to supporting regional talents, with at least six spots reserved for young musicians from Carinthia. At our closing concert, we will host a competition where prizes totaling €15.400 as well as additional performance opportunities can be awarded.
I am particularly delighted, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Arnold Schönberg's birth, to present an exhibition from the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna, showcasing the life and work of the great composer within the framework of the master classes. Dr. Ulrike Anton, the director of the Center, will personally inaugurate this exhibition on site.
In addition to musical education, students can enjoy concerts in the charming, Italian-inspired old town of Althofen, cool off in the outdoor pool right next to their accommodation, visit the Auer von Welsbach Museum, explore cycling and hiking trails, and experience the warmth of the residents of Althofen.
Seize the opportunity to attend these unique master classes, participate, and be inspired.
Yours sincerely,
Johannes Fleischmann
